  • How Can I get a debit card?

    If you are a BACB client using  the Virtual Bank BACB Plus, you can fill in and submit an online Debit card issuance form. If you are not yet a BACB customer, please visit the nearest BACB office and fill in a Debit card issuanceform.

  • How long will it take for my card to be ready?

    The standard term for the issuance and delivery of cards is about 5 working days but not more than 10 working days from the application date at a bank office or in the virtual bank.

  • Can you issue a card urgently tomorrow until the end of the day?


    Yes, we can issue you a card within 48 hours of application at the bank after payment of the express issuance fee in accordance with the BACB Tariff.

  • Can I get an additional card to my daughter? She is a student in Austria. A card account with what currency will be most appropriate to be issued for her? In what currency is your settlement with Austria?

    You may issue an additional debit card to your daughter linked to your current account in euros. The BACB VISA and MasterCard settlements are in euros and respectively a card account in euro will be most convenient for you.

  • What are the limits of your supplementary cards? Can I put a supplementary card to a lower limit and how to do it?

    Once a supplementary card is issued, you should complete and submit a Change of limit request form to the bank, specifying what specific limits you want to set.

  • When I pay money to my account, how soon will my daughter be able to use it via the card?

    A few minutes after the pay, your daughter will be able to use the funds within the transaction limits set by you.

  • Do you issue debit cards to foreigners? My husband is English. Can he get a debit card at the bank?

    Yes, BACB offers and issues debit cards both to Bulgarians and foreigners.

  • Is my card active? I have just got a card and a PIN at your office (by a courier). Can I pay at a POS terminal today?

    Your card is not active at the time of receipt. In order to activate it, please call  +359 2 9702600 (BORICA- BANKSERVICE helpline of our Customer Service Department) and after customer personal data verification, your card will be activated. After activating the card, we recommend that you change your PIN to be able to withdraw cash / pay at a retailer (this can be done at an ATM). Save / remember your password for secure payments on the Internet, which is printed in the letter with your PIN, directly beneath the PIN or under the PIN received via SMS, in case you have chosen the "PIN by SMS" service during your application. For your convenience, you can change your password for secure payments online with one chosen by you. For this purpose, please visit the website of the bank www.bacb.bg and click on VbV and / or MasterCard 3D Secure Code. .

  • Can I receive SMS notifications for my transactions and what is the monthly fee for this service?

    Of course, this service is highly recommended for safety reasons and for your convenience. There is no annual subscription fee and you pay only 0.12 BGN per SMS. To get SMS notifications, you should complete and submit a Change of limit request form to the bank or make a note in the Debit card request form.

  • What is the minimum balance on the card account?

    The minimum balance on BACB debit cards for individuals is 5 BGN / EUR / USD depending on the currency of the account.

  • Can I withdraw money with my card and at the same time use my account for other financial transactions - bank transfers, utility payments, etc.?

    Yes, you can simultaneously withdraw money with your card and also perform various banking transactions directly from your account, the transactions being carried out online and in real time.

  • What does "Secure Payments on the Internet" mean and do I have to register?

    "Secure Payments on the Internet" is a service that guarantees secure transactions on the Internet, without the risk of card abuse and fraud. BACB automatically registers all its cardholders for secure payments through VbV and a 3D Secure Code, and the only thing you have to do is to enter your password for secure internet payments during the payment process. The password for secure payments on the Internet is obtained along with your PIN for payments and cash withdrawals. If you forget or lose your password, you can generate a new one at an ATM.

  • At what rate are international transactions converted. I paid 10 euros in a retail outlet in France about 10 days ago and now I see I was taken 20.80 BGN instead of 19.5583 BGN. Why is the amount different?

    Each transaction abroad is first converted into the currency and the rate of the international VISA and / or MasterCard organization, and subsequently it is converted into the currency of the card account according to the bank rate on the date of transaction.

  • My son is a student and has an additional card to my account. I want to limit it so that he can withdraw a maximum of 50 BGN per week in Bulgaria. What document do I need to fill in?

    If you want your son to be able to withdraw money at ATM’s you should fill in a Transaction limit form for a 24 hours’ period and another one for a 7 days’ period limiting cash withdrawals in the currency of your account. For all other limits you should explicitly specify zero.

  • Can I receive information about my credit card transactions in order to avoid unauthorized payments with it?

  • Can I renew my card in advance of the expiry date, as I will travel abroad?

    Yes, you can. You must complete a Request for reissuing form. BACB will issue a new card and a PIN for you. A reissue of the card is charged according to the Tariff of the bank.

  • What is "unauthorized overdraft"? I have paid a very high interest for that.

    Unauthorized overdraft is formed in a case of charging a fee or making an online transaction if your account has no money from which it to be deducted. Payment of an unauthorized overdraft is due immediately.

  • What should I do if the validity of my debit card expires?

    Upon expiry of the card, the bank issues automatically a new card, but not earlier than ten days before the expiry of the old one. The holder may obtain a new card at the bank offices. If he or she does not wish a new card to be issued the bank should be notified in writing, not later than two months before the card expiry date.

  • What should I do to receive a business card?

    Please visit the nearest office of BACB and fill in a Business debit card application form.

  • Can I issue business debit cards linked to the company’s account to some of the company's employees? What will be the limit of each of them?

    Yes, the bank offers international VISA Business debit cards and can issue business cards linked to your company's current account. All employees will have access to the funds in your corporate account 24/7, according to individually set by you limits for cash withdrawals and cash payments.

  • How can I monitor what amounts each corporate card spends?

    You can see online each authorization made via any of your business debit cards in BACB Plus Virtual Bank. In the Bank statement you will see all the transactions made via the company’s cards.

  • If I transfer money to my company’s account, how long will it take it to be available via the cards?

    If you transfer money to your company’s BACB account, you will promptly (within minutes after the transfer) have access to the amounts in your company’s debit cards.
