BACB contributes to better air quality in the capital by providing ecologically clean buses

The topic of air pollution in Sofia has been the subject of discussions, as well as which measures have to be taken in order to deal with this problem. A positive step towards cleaner air space was made by BACB. One of the bank’s main focuses is aimed towards providing care for the environment and supporting businesses that contribute to a greener tomorrow. The Bank agreed to take part in an open procurement procedure for the award of a contract by Sofia Metropolitan Autotransport EAD for supplying the leasing of 60 gas buses.

BACB chose BMC, one of the leading vehicle companies, which provide solutions to cases in the transport industry, to be its partner. The leasing agreement was contracted for a period of 96 months and payments for the vehicles will be paid in equal monthly installments.

The BMC buses were delivered last year and are already servicing some of the city’s busiest and most traffic congested areas. These buses use compressed natural gas, which is proven to be a much cleaner alternative compared to the standard diesel buses.

In financing these ecological buses, BACB continues the tradition of aiding environment friendly businesses and Sofia is making small steps towards being less polluted and a more pleasant city to live in for both citizens and guests of the capital.
