BACB Publishes its 2025 Sustainability Report

Bulgarian-American Credit Bank has published its Sustainability Report for 2025. The report is prepared on a voluntary basis and presents the bank's approach, actions and results on environmental, social and governance topics for the period 1 January – 31 December 2025.

In 2025, BACB reports own Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions of 178.68 tCO₂e under the market-based method, a 64% reduction compared to 2024, supported in part by the purchase of 480 MWh of guarantees of origin for electricity. The bank's main climate impact remains linked to its loan portfolio: financed emissions for the year amount to 195,957 tCO₂e, with portfolio coverage of 68.4%. The EU Taxonomy analysis shows that 53.8% of the NACE-coded portfolio falls within potentially eligible sectors.

Among the report's highlights is the internal development of ESG knowledge: during the year, the BACB ESG School was expanded with a handbook on the principles of E, S and G, created as part of the employee training process. The bank's afforestation initiative, "The BACB Forest", reached a total of 39,214 planted saplings across 196 decares in partnership with the State Forestry Enterprise of Stara Zagora.

In 2025, the bank was named "Greenest Bank" in the b2b Media competition "The Greenest Companies in Bulgaria".
