BACB Reports 18% Increase in Net Fee Income

Bulgarian-American Credit Bank continues to deliver steady growth and successfully closed the second quarter of 2026. Against a backdrop of global uncertainty and armed conflicts worldwide, BACB continues to develop on a sustainable basis, reporting stable financial performance. The Bank ended the first half of the year with total assets of EUR 1,553 million, maintaining its market position.

BACB continued to expand its loan portfolio, recording growth of 11.49% as at the end of June 2026 compared with the second quarter of the previous year, against growth of 17.36% for the banking system as a whole. The strongest relative growth was recorded in lending to individuals, where BACB reported an increase of 20.90% as at the end of June 2026 compared with the same period of 2025. The strong performance in this segment reflects the Bank’s flexible financing solutions, tailored approach and attractive interest rate terms.

BACB reported growth of 9.17% in corporate lending as at the end of June 2026 compared with the same period of 2025, against growth of 11.30% for the banking system. This performance reflects the Bank’s consistent policy of sustainably expanding its corporate loan portfolio through the financing of economically viable projects offering sound returns, while maintaining its established credit risk assessment and management standards.

Despite significant pressure on interest margins, net interest income as at the end of June 2026 increased by 11.59% compared with the same period of 2025, against growth of 19.54% for the banking system. BACB reported a 15.55% reduction in interest expense, successfully optimising its cost of funding, while the market recorded an increase of 17.61%.

The Bank achieved significant growth of 18.14% in net fee income as at the end of the second quarter of 2026 compared with June 2025, against market growth of 4.23% over the same period.

The increase was driven by a substantially higher rise in fee and commission income combined with only a marginal increase in fee and commission expense, and was mainly attributable to increased banking activity by corporate customers.

As at the end of June 2026, the Bank reported a level of own funds commensurate with its risk profile and asset quality and sufficient to support the achievement of its strategic objectives and the implementation of its business plan for the current year.
