Important information for debit and credit card holders – citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus

Dear customers,

In connection with the direct application in the Republic of Bulgaria of the European Union’s restrictive measures against citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus, we wish to inform you of the following:

From 1 September 2026, all customers who are citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus and who wish to have a debit or credit card issued or reissued to carry out payment transactions using payment accounts held with the bank must present one of the following documents:

  • A valid passport or identity card proving citizenship of a Member State of the European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA)  or Switzerland; or
  • A valid residence permit or visa confirming authorised  temporary or permanent residence in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.

If you hold any of the above documents but have not provided it to the bank, or if you obtained it after establishing your relationship with the bank, please provide us with details of the document without delay to ensure the smooth reissuing (if necessary) of your bank cards.

If you do not have any of the documents listed above, you may continue to use your debit and credit cards until they expire, and you may also use, without restriction, all banking services available via the Bank’s mobile and online banking services, as well as the services provided in person at our branches throughout the country.

Should you require further information, please contact your local branch or the Bank’s contact centre.
