BACB Reported a 106.13% Net Profit Growth

Bulgarian-American Credit Bank successfully ended Q1’23 and continues to report stable indicator values.

BACB's best performance is reported in the profitability metrics. The bank achieved 75.85% growth in net interest income compared to a market average of 47.78%.

BACB's net profit amounts to BGN 10.589 million after taxes. The data shows a 106.13% increase compared to Q1’22. Based on this indicator, the bank's profit growth is three times higher than the banking system’s average. For the same period, the banking sector reported a profit increase of 37.86%.

Despite the continued tightening of the European and US monetary policy, BACB continues to grow and achieved a 7.85% asset growth on an annual basis. At the end of March, the bank's assets reached BGN 2 676 504 thousand.

BACB continues to expand its loan portfolio in a targeted manner and achieved the largest growth in citizen lending. Residential loans grew by 17.46%, on the background of the 17.27% growth reported by the banking market. The consumer loan portfolio increase was 19.17%, compared to 12.93% for the sector.

BACB's capital position preserved its positive dynamics and reported an impressive growth of 28.60% compared to March 2022. The bank is currently in the process of obtaining a permission from the regulatory body to include its audited 2022 profit in its equity, as a result of which CET1 on an individual basis would rise to BGN 261 605 thousand.
