Tips for Online Banking Security

BACB uses professional means to protect data security. Nevertheless, when using BACB's online banking, the precautionary measures taken by you to protect your computers and computer networks are also very important. We recommend that you comply with the following recommended security measures:

  • Use only legal software
  • Use anti-virus, anti-spyware software and firewalls on the computers (personal or corporate) from which you access the service. Keep track on their regular updates and regular scans
  • Keep your operating system and browser up to date
  • Keep your username and password secret, never write them down on paper, any physical carrier, do not include them in electronic messages and do not share them with third parties
  • Use secure passwords - containing lowercase and uppercase letters (e.g. a-z, A-Z), punctuation marks and numbers that consist of at least eight characters and are not based on personal information, names, etc. Periodically change your access password
  • Do not leave unattended your computer with an active session of BACB online banking
  • When accessing BACB's online banking, check the server certificate as well as the Sectigo secure mark
  • Always use the "Exit" button when you have finished your work
  • Avoid using your online banking from computers with unregulated access (computer rooms, libraries or others). Do not confirm or save the username and password entered in the browser;
  • Do not leave unattended your personal mobile phone or security device to ensure it is not used by another person without your knowledge
  • Check when and where you accessed your account. You can do this by selecting "Session Overview"

It is important to know that:

BACB does not send e-mails related to confirmation of your data, username or password. The Bank does not require e-mail or SMS re-verification of your identity by entering a username, password, mobile phone number and other sensitive data. BACB does not send e-mails related to any planned maintenance of online banking applications or in case of technical problems and limited access to these applications.
